I knew she was going to go last night. All day yesterday she was hanging out in the barn, rubbing her butt on a hay bale, and she had a drip of liquid milk on each teat. At 11:30, she still wasn't really doing anything other than walking around in her stall and occasionally standing with her tail raised. So I set my alarm for 1:00am. I came out just in time to see her having major contractions while standing, leaking fluid. Then she laid down and at 1:30 am he was born!
Poor Catlow has a bit of a torn vulva, but it's pretty minor. She'll heal up fine.
Her colt is big boned and beautiful! And he's a red dun!
He's much less concerned about people compared to the filly. I can touch him all over and he's not worried. Cody's filly won't let me near her. I'm not sure it's all to do with the fact that I was there when he was born until he was settled in and nursing well.

Another fine foal! Oh how I miss that....
Oh my gosh I love him! Can I steal him? I am going to really enjoy watching this one grow.
I'll put you on the waiting list, Andrea! Ha Ha! He's not for sale.
I was really shocked that he didn't have Catlow's blaze. I thought of all the things she'd pass on to him, it would be the blaze!
What a doll! I'm just getting caught up and both babies are beautiful!! I'd love to reach out and hug them through the computer.
